This drop was taken at 165mm (100mm macro with 65mm of extension tubes). The drop was sitting on top of a red and gold ribbon that wraps around our Christmas tree. There was an LED light shining above the drop from the strand of lights on the tree.
I sat my ring down the other day and happened to see this shadow appearing inside the ring. I was stunned!! I moved the ring to a better position to bring a deeper shadow out and then shot it. I don't know where the heart came from but I'm thinking it's an artifact of the general inscription inside the ring somehow.

Sometimes sacrificing one drop for a good shot is well worth the mental anguish one most go through to make that tough decision. For me, personally, I've learned to live with my decisions :)
